Operation Dress Up! is a student-run organization that collects back-to-school clothing for homeless children in Los Angeles, of which there are over 16,000 identified in the Los Angeles Unified School District alone.
Operation Dress Up! was created by sisters, Megan and Phoebe,
who read about the growing number of homeless students in Los
Angeles due to the economic downturn. The girls established an
annual clothing drive, which allows their peers to help as
well. All donations are delivered to homeless shelters and
organizations that work directly with homeless youth in Los
Angeles and the surrounding areas.
In addition to clothing drives, Operation Dress Up! also
collects new books and school supplies.
